Love is a myth.
It hides in shadowy corners
It hints at itself
Alludes to itself
But never fully appears.
Briefly showing its face
Long enough to be glimpsed
Then secretes itself again
Chortling at having gained
A few believers.
Passes the time
Plotting their end.
Love plays its games
Of hide-and-seek
Parading as sex
Masquerading as companionship
Always illusory.
Weaving its spell of deceit
Dangling ripe plums
Snatching them away
Just before they touch the hungry lips
Of its devout followers.
Never content
To give fully of itself.
Love is a myth.

I never thought of love as this. It seems that everyone can feel this way at some point in time and honestly right now I am feeling this way too.. It eludes me, it makes me feel angry that I can love someone so much yet htey can just turn away from me. Great work on this. But one thing: I need your option in your authors notes.
