The Two I Lookup Too

When I need Strength

I see my father

Son stand tall and proud

Stand up for what you believe

Even if you take a fall

When I need Warmth

I see my Mother

Son be tender and caring

Love with all you heart

Love will take you far

My Father gave me wisdom

Character and my beliefs

He made me a patriot

And a adventurous sprite

My mother gave me sympathy

For my fellow man

She taught me to be honest

And how to be a gentleman

The man you see before you

Is part my mother and my father

I hope that I am a man

That they can both be proud of

Author notes

I choose two becuase they ar both so much a part of me,  For better or for worse.

    Outstanding!

This is a wonderful poem! Your spirit shows in everything you do, whether it be in writing about your parents, your comrades- at-arms, your children or friends, you look out for everyone and have something nice to say about all. The writing here is a little difficult to read, because of the red letters on a blue background (it hurts my eyes), but I may have bad eyesight anyway. I enjoyed this piece - it is a great tribute to the ones who helped to create a man. In actuality, the man was created from his own self-determination to be like his parents!!
