December's Highway: Revised!

It’s December again and everything is dark--
I’m afraid the road is still cold.
Cold and nothin’, a goodbye to the night.

Follow me home and I’ll show you the highway
Where moment and shadow linger like misery
The jokes are old and nothin’ is ever right.

Will your heart beat?
Will your tongue speak?
Will you fight?
Will you die?
Will you kill?
Will you breathe?
Will you survive?

It’s December again and everything is dark
I’m afraid the road is still cold.

The fire is under the trap door,
Will you be familiar with hell?
The walls can’t kill you
But the highway will--
I’m afraid the road is still cold.

It’s December again and everything is dark
I’m afraid the road is still cold.

    excellent vision

Makes me think of a flying dutchman car where the occupant died long ago in a car crash, and travels the December road endlessly as pennance for an ill spent life.....good lyrics
