Ripe and sweet Mango fruits
Sparkle in the moonlight
Like glittering gold cakes
Scintillate in the denser woods;
The Squirrels with tails bent upwards
which are always agile and alert
Search out for the choice fruits
and taking them taste in plenty;
Lo! The coconut trees that turn their heads
Look like bewildering demons
Oh! The sparrows sit in their branches
Make them move like swinging benches!
See! The ugly and blinking owls
Which come from the Banyan trees’ holes
Sit in the branches and scream thro’ the trees
Watching vigilantly the forest in the night!
