Dear Lord, are you still listening
Do you hear me cry in the night
I need to feel you here with me
So I will know it will be alright
I seem to have lost my way Lord
This path I took, led me astray
The road I took was temptation
My selfishness got in the way
You died on the cross for me
Dieing for my burdens and sin
Lord I have failed so badly
He knocked, Satan walked in
My life now lay in shambles
Spirit broken inside of me
I ask for the Lords forgiveness
Hear me Lord, come set me free
Gather me up, repair my soul
For with you I can be brand new
Shine your light, again upon me
On the path leading back to you

1. "Faithless is he who says farewell when the road darkens." -J.R.R. Tolkien
I have realized, no matter how far we may stray, God never lets us go. He has a way of yanking us back to our senses and where we should be.

what a wonderful message, and a beautiful poem! I am so glad I ran into this today. When I am feeling alone and sad, it really helps to know that God can always be counted on to love me, know my heart, and set me free.

Amen! I always take this quote as a comforting reminder that God is with me, and to deny that is what makes me "faithless." You're one of the first to have that same point of view
. Although it's a shorter piece, there's honesty in every word and that's what makes it great. I've prayed something like this many times myself. Thanks for a great, relatable write, and best of luck to you!
God bless,

wonderful work mom!! I loved it- actually i feel like i can relate to this, i mean, you're absolutely right when you say that God never lets us go. Even though we often stray away from his teachings, he continues to love us and evenually leads us back to him and i think you portrayed this marvellously well in your poem.
Beautiful poem!
