...then verily he heard the moon speak,
yes, there was no mistaking it...
"Rickyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy..."
Ricky turned in abject horror, then he ran...he ran for his life...
he ran deep into the dim, dangerous forest...
the moon ever pursuing him, menacingly calling out,
"Rickyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy..."
Ricky ran
until he was cold, sweaty, clammy,
he ran until his feverish primal fear permeated every chilled breath
that dared to exhale forth into the frosty terror of the night...
yet the breath that pursued him drew swiftly nearer, so much nearer...
and it called out, with deathly desire...
"Rickyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy..."
Ricky tumbled down a steep embankment
that seemed like an endless, bottomless abyss...
he finally came to rest, hopelessly tangled in a snarling web of menacing thickets...
and do you know what he said?
what he said...
Realizing he was caught,
he made a brave, but foolish, effort to master the monstrous orb...
his brave and foolish effort to master the monstrous orb...
He saw with dismay that his plan had failed.
He then tried an alternate, desperate, calculated attempt
to assuage the threatening, spheroidial apparition that hung in the air...
his desperate attempt to assuage the spheroidial apparition...
The moon, seeking Ricky, found him bloody and naked in the brambles.
It let forth a flying shriek- a curdling, horrid, hissing screech that split the night air into a thousand razor-edged shards of blinding dread...
the curdling horrid screech that split the night air...
To this day, when the moon is full, there can be heard two lovers deep in the forest,
like a distant, mysterious rain, pitter-pattering, pitter pattering
over a gentle crystal-onyx-icy-bourbon-on-the-rocks waterfall...
the sound of the distant mysterious rain...
In the dead hours of the night,
still echoing through the stony mountain peaks
and along the bubbling rainbow brook
you can hear Ricky,
as he expresses his true feelings for his divine love...
Ricky expressing his true feelings for his divine love...
and the brook bubbled, and bubbled, and bubbled, and bubbled, and bubbled...
and over time it wove the love melody into a theme song,a song now heard by the gods who watched perpetual reruns of the horrid encounter...
the theme song favored by the gods...
and that, may you beware, is the tale of Ricky, and of a lonely monstrous icy love-struck moon maiden from hell, the celestial maiden who pursued Ricky into the abyss, shrieking his name,
and whose love, in the end, was at last acknowledged, and returned...

Phenomenal and chilling
When I first read this, I didn't listen to the sound bites, so I didn't get the comedic effect. But it gave me chills. I listened to it this time with the sound, but I've got to admit that I like it much more without. It's beautiful in an eerie way.
I too am in love with a Ricky. It kind of gives me the creeps identifying with a lonely monstrous icy love-struck Moon maiden from hell. But hey, sometimes that's not too far off.

Even downloaded an extra program to get the sound on this to work, but it won't come to the party...bugger! Anyway, it's an interesting piece ~ I'd always looked upon the moon as a symbol of peace and tranquility! (Should I not judge a book by its cover?!) Good stuff here, and keep that pen moving.
