Walking down Hollywood Boulevard
The cool crisp air bites my nape
Setting Sky
Colors of Wine and War
Walking a mile of revelations
Behind the shield of my eyes
Silence
Editing Reality
The silence is poisoned
Just like everything else here
Dreams burn like melting wax
They stream into my eyes and ears
Filling me from my head to my heart
The pressure intensifies
pushing my head towards a climax
Colors dance
Vision F
A
L
L
S
Trapped pressure
threatening destruction
Exposing the black stain on my soul
Consuming
No more individuality
Not in this town
Biting Cold is the only comfort
This is the day the earth went numb
Realizing the inescapable confinement
The overwhelming selfish seduction
Of a thousand pretty lights
Tripped off the edge of reality
Dreamers Disease
To continue on is my fate
To keep on Hollywood Boulevard
Dancing with the Devil

An interesting write. I think it's about global warming because you mention things loke 'trapped pressure' 'a thousand lights' tripped, and 'the day the world went numb'. There are other possibilities, but that's the hallmark of a good poem. I enjoyed the read, and the puzzle. Looking forward to knowing the answer. Kath.

This is a potent piece of poetry. Strong, tough, sad, with an unnamable hoplessness to it. Very well done, by the way, excellent! Bravo!!! Bravo!!! (what's it about...it could be about several things, indeed, I have my own guess--but I'm not tellin'!)
