that I would find a man to love.
One that wouldn't let me down,
Be my savior when I'm sad, my clown.
Shelter me from the storm,
On those cold nights, keep me warm.
Love me with all my mistakes,
through life's troubles and aches.
Honor my daughter as his own,
When her father left her all alone.
Stand by her, through it all,
Pick her up if she would happen to stumble or fall.
One day in the frozen food isle,
My prayer showed up in the form of a smile.
on the face of a man nine years older in life,
who took me in and made me his wife.
Showed me love more than any other,
Given my daughter a sister and maybe a brother.
Who makes me laugh and sometimes cry,
yet holds me and wipes the tears from my eye.
Showed me their was more to life,
Then all the torment, pain and strife.
And so to him I gave my heart and soul,
for no other could handle my toll.
Through the ups and downs the road has given,
Without him my life wouldn't be worth livin'.
Author notes
This is of course about me and my husband we met at work where he of course stood in the frozen food isle. We met fell in love and at that point I knew I found the man I would spend the rest of my life with. A year later we got married and had a beautiful daughter together and am now expecting another one ((hopefully a boy)) Even though we argue and fight we both know deep down that we couldn't live without eachother. I hope you all get that feeling from this poem for its the truth word for word.

I think that this was a truly beautiful and heartfelt poem, and one that I can relate to with ease. My daughter is almost four years old, and the man that i'm about to marry is the only one who was ever there for her as much as he was there for me. He never treated her like baggage. He is 8 years my senior and by far the most amazing man that I have ever met. We met at his job, I would come in regularly for cigarettes, diet coke and gum, and when we took an interest in each other, I would drive 35 minutes out of my way just to go to his store for a glimpse of him. The flow was smooth and the write was gorgeous. Great job honey. Merry Part and Blessed Be.
