Hugs Are Sunshine

A special feeling of tenderness,
deep felt warmth in my heart.
Arms wrapped around each other,
hugs allow sadness to depart.

Always so good when given freely,
feeling safe or just saying hello.
Some people we could hug forever,
never wanting to let them go.

Hugs are a sweet sign of affection,
gives a warm fuzzy feeling inside.
Sometimes heads lay on a shoulder,
when love dwells deep down inside.

God gave us two arms to hold on tight,
when things become to much to bear.
When woken by fears amid the night,
a warm hug lets you know they care.

Hugs turn gray clouds to sunshine,
can make a smile out of a frown.
Show those you love how you care,
hugs turn their frowns upside down.


I sit here and miss someone special,

wanting a hug from my dear friend.

Hoping he reads how I miss him,

as I wait for the hugs he will send.

Just sitting here missing a dear friend and thinking how good it would be to hug him right now. So many miles seperate us but he is here with me in my heart, as are many other friends too.  Many hugs to all of you.  I miss you. ((((BIG HUG ))))))) for you.

    What a Brilliant poem!So warm hearted and lovingly entwined in words. Its got all the feelings that a hug gives. Its true a simple sincere hug can make someone's day......Just love it to the core.Something to be learnt from too. Thanks for showing me how much a hug can do.

    Hugs are the best. I hate how they speak out against them on TV shows; especially sitcoms.Some shows say hugs are only or gay people or married people. That's so stupid. Hugs are one of the best ways of showing people you love them. If only there could be more of them in this world, how much better a place this world would be. Great poem Sandy; and some s for you.

    this was the perfect poem for me to read this morning as I have been continueously hugged this morning. I just recently took in two more children so now have 5 here and they all just love to hug. I was full of giggles this morning as they lined up to hug me, was so cute. The first child come to give me a hug and they others all formed a line behind them, when they finished hugging me they went to the back of the line and I got about 15 minutes of hugging. There is nothing that warms a heart more the first thing in the morning then a hug from a child or loved one. Your piece captures what I feel this morning to a tee.

I too am missing a friend due to the miles between us, and wish I could have a hug from him, but I will leave one here for you, as I am a collector of z and love to leave them everywhere!!!!!!!!!
