How We Use to Be

You're not like you use to be.
We're not like we use to be.
What happened to late night kisses?
Where did we go wrong?
Where did i go wrong?
I use to think that this love would never cease.
We would always be OK through whatever came our way.
But that's not how we are...not now...not today.
Yesterday we were us, yesterday we were love.
The love has gone and now we are robots.
Everyday I love you slips from our mouths
But there is no meaning behind it
We say it because we are robots
Programmed to say these things.
Will our meaning ever return or is it lost?
How we use to be is not how we are
I miss how we us to be.
I miss your touch, your lips and your gaze.
Will you ever come back to me?
Where ever you are I am here
Here waiting to be like we use to be.

Author notes

Love is not always as it seems. But when you get the right person and it doesn't go as planned there could be alot of hurt. If it was meant to be then it will happen.

This poem holds a lot of truth within it. Reading this left me thinking of my boyfriend. I can really relate with your words. I can sense your longing, your heart breaking, because the relationship you speak of within it has somehow lost it's meaning. I know what it feels like to say the words "I love you," so many times in one day, yet not once know why you say it, because there is no truth in it at all, just something you've got used to saying. Sad piece, I can really relate. xXx.
