At Long Last

The stars sing melodies that can be heard
only by the ears of one who has loved;
Fragments of hopes and dreams and memories
all shattered and broken into thousands of pieces across the sky...
The night always seems cold to the one with no one to hold on to, and the dark always seems cruel when there is no one to lay beside in it.
Still yet, those glowing silver fragments
offer some form of condolence,
sitting in their silence, so far away; too far to touch.

When the breeze catches in your hair,
and you breathe in the scent of sunset,
know that soon, all will be remembered.
The night brings on the past as a tide unto the shore,
and as painful or bittersweet as it may be, you must bare it out to the very last...

To embrace what has happened is to welcome that to come.
And when life isn't perfect; when you feel inadequate and stupid and numb to the core,
look to the stars.
Someone out there you've yet to meet,
or someone you've met that you love with your heart,
is watching the same sky as you.

They are holding your hand and leading you to peace.
Listen to their song.
Breathe in the sunset.
Remember the past, and look forward to tomorrow...
It may be all you have left.
