My Visitor

A saw a memo posted today
That was so hard to see
But after glancing carefully
The words there puzzled me.

"APPOINTMENT", it said, "ON THE TWENTIETH DAY"
"OF THIS VERY MONTH CALLED AUGUST"
"BE READY, BE CAREFUL, BE ON YOUR TOES"
"FOR YOUR GUEST MAY NOT BE THE FINEST "

So many thoughts rushed over me
As I folded the puzzling note.
Yet what, I thought, could the meaning be
While discarding it in my waistcoat.

Day after day came and then past
And the reminder began to fade
Until the morning of the twentieth
As thoughts over me did cascade.

I heard the doorbell whispering
As my heart leaped into my throat.
Trembling I opened the old rusty door
The note burning through my waistcoat.

"Change" was who I had opened up to
And it walked on it without stop.
My life is now and forever altered
As it went it and sat with a plop.

Author notes

Actually, I used the big changes in my life and decided to give it a more personal look. It is different, but I hope that you like it.

The other day, I was sitting in class and I was thinking about us moving and I sat there with a calender and realised that as of last Friday (October 6) I had two weeks till we have to be out of our house and between that and other things going on in my life, I felt so overwhalmed. Change can be a good thing, but it is also sometimes unexpected and  disastrous.

    Chels this is good.Everyone has problems but we must learn to move forward.We must also remember that the Bible also says that,"All things happen together for good for those who believe in the Lord Jesus."

    You are so right. Thank you for reminding me that change is needed, not always pleasent, but it does make us who we are. Thank you for taking time nd reading this. It was graetly appriciated.

    Great piece

    Change can certainly be a good thing, but it is good to look back into the past as well. It is the past that has made you, formed you into the person you are now. Your piece is so true. I really enjoyed reading it.
