The Truth About Bubbles

Bubbles,
(not to be confused
with troubles)-

are round smiley giggles
that must come up for air

Swimming
till you are amused
and brimming,

float out and wiggles
with hopes to land somewhere.

Lip corners pointing up
Till the mouth forms to a cup

Flip-flops,
from  hilarity
'til one pops-

They're way too quick
And just briefly stick
so keep your eyes up close
till you snicker silly

There'll be smiles to spare

then

My goodness! Laughter’s everywhere!

I absolutely adore this piece! Being a mother and having been asked so many times to explain a bubble, I found this piece to be wonderfully descriptive and humorous. I'll read this one again to my daughter who is 21 mos. when she wakes and see what she thinks about it! Loved it!

I found your poem, "Bubbles" a delight. Children can see and feel what bubbles are even if they have never experienced them before. I hear playful giggles in a tub full of bubbles and babes! Well done! Writeright(sherry)

Who would have thought to write a poem on bubbles?? Creative. This shows the wonder and imagination of a child. Children love to watch bubbles. I think you captured that fascination.

Full of bubbly smilling faces GOOD WRite

So very true. Bubbles tickle your nose and laughter comes bubbling our. I liked this backround to. I just would like to see you use the Rich instead of plain.
In this way you could bring your poem out in front and we could read it better.

You could always put a bubble or two in your rich prose. If we use it more and people see it or we train how to use it - more people will become Umbers!

    God is blessing you!

    With christian Love,

Such a cute way of portraying the cheer to be found in a fest of bubbles. It really was very nicely put together into a theme that any child would love to hear. Creating for children in such a way is really wonderful Cookie. I can imagine my mother reading something just like this to my nephew, Jack. He'd be taking it all in like candy.

A delightful, well structured, cheery flowing piece of work.

Ahhh... this is adorable... i love children's poetry, and my kids both love to read it too... my son makes up words for his poems, then tells me... but you said "poetry can be anything"... including his made-up words. I said, yes, you're absolutely right, anything you want it to be :-)
Jack Prelutsky and Shel Silverstein are entertaining reads for kids :-)

I went to my daughters classroom last year and we spent a few hours reading and writing poetry. Kids write the cutest poetry... lol

"bubbles" is a great idea, very good poem, enjoyed this :-)

    Excellent! Delightful poem!

Really enjoyed this! I recently bought a bottle of bubble stuff and included were blowing devices that gave you several options as to how your bubbles would form, etc. I had a good time with it, but my cats were afraid of the bubbles..(I was disappointed...I was hoping to see them paw at them and watch them pop as they did).
I'm still a child at heart (and I'm happy to see that you and several others are, too!) This is a wonderful poem for children (of all ages)!
