Into the shadow of the year
In sorrow’s the seed of joy
Into summer's grand illusion
Let death walk through the door
Life is a never-ending
Though through shadows one must go
Summers end is but a journey
Life, into death,
Then into life once more
Some threads are long seeming,
Others are cut short
To all that lives, comes death
And in death to all comes hope
The promise of tomorrow
Brings hope to ravaged lands
Remote and arid places
Ashes dust and sand
Summer walks with winter
Hand in hand life walks with death
North journeys with the south
Summers end breaths life from death

This is awesome!
My favorite parts are
Let death walk through the door
Life is a never-ending
Though through shadows one must go
Summers end is but a journey
Life, into death,
Then into life once more
It shows how talented you are when expressing a renaissance of life, for it means rebirth.
Good luck!

A wise expression of the cycle of life and the understanding of death's role in the renewal. As the pagan holidays are in observation of the spiritual implications of seasonal change, you've caught that essence very well here. I'm kind of an egghead, I have a very long piece called The Saga Of The Spirit of Mankind, that deals with the same subject. I'll IM you an excerpt and a link. I think you would enjoy it, it's a long read though, so make sure you're comfortable! Thanks for refering me here! I enjoyed it!
