Autumn leaves

Bursts of yellow, orange and red,
A tinge of green to show what was former,
Shaped in star points and heart shaped leaves,
Varying stalks start the short-lived freedom
Pre coma trees prepare for their light sleep,
Saving their strength for next years buds,
Where a brand new generation of leaves will form
Following the same path of this years tree bonds,

Author notes

Autumns only just hit my area and the leaves have just started changing colour and falling i love watching the leaves change and thought id write about it.

This poem was beautiful; I loved how descriptive you made autumn leaves seem, and the trees too. I particularly like watching autumn leaves changing colour as well, except it's Spring where I live so I've got another few months to go before Autumn. =[ Anyway good luck in the contest.
