Love
All love must have a beginning,
feelings of newness, a start.
It may flourish and grow stronger,
may settle deep within ones heart.
Exciting is a pounding heart,
the beginning of new romance.
Mixed emotions start to abound,
with a smile and second glance.
We lose our senses completely,
the power of love takes control.
we throw caution to the wind,
and think love makes us whole.
Sometimes two can become one,
one can become lonely and blue.
Love won't come with a promise,
to last your whole life through.
Those loves that truly matter,
stay with you and never leave.
tucked away deep in our hearts,
miss them, we smile, we grieve.
Some love may be never-ending,
deep in our hearts forever more.
Unforgettable, throughout time,
with memories still longed for.
Author notes
Just sitting and wondering why some people come into our lives and hearts and never leave. They stay within our hearts and as we remember them and the love we shared. Well others are forgotten. I think their are very few people we put in our hearts forever. The ones who are so special that they nor the love we shared with them is never forgotten and drifts through our minds from time to time as we remember the beautiful love that was shared.

Very beautiful poem Sandy. I like the lines "Love won't come with a promise, to last your whole life through." although really it does, for many people. It makes me think of lost loves and memorable times that are still part of who I am. The "miss them, we smile, we grieve." hit is on the head in many instances as well. Very well done, many claps. Wow! sandy I think this is one of your best poems yet! This touched me right to the heart. I'm still in a new relationship even though there's love. And I hope that it'll be of the lasting kind. It is so elusive. Sometimes, even for me, it's hard to believe in the mere possibility of that kinda love happening again.
but faith is a belief, not a feeling. And so, I must go by the belief that God has grand things in store for me

Awww this write really about made me cry. This explains the love from beginning to end. It shows the good and the bad. This was just so beautiful. I loved the ending!!! We all know what its like to have loved someone and only make people think that we've let go But know in our hearts were still holding on. Its just sad when you think about it because you dont want admit it but ya know its true. Ya have done a really AMAZING job on this. Keep penning. Would love to hear more.

There are mysteries that cannot be explained easily, I feel it is how one treats another that keeps them in ones heart and memories. If one shows love, compassion and understanding it will come back to them many times over.

This is a really powerful poem with vivid imagery. I found it sad in some places but the hope was stronger than that. I liked this poem as it described love beautifully
