Making love (Interpretation)

Making love is about two people

losing themselves in each other,

no restraints, no pressure, no expectations

just relaxing and becoming immersed in the experience,

having fun, making mistakes, giggling,

closeness, heat,

feeling each other out with closed eyes and searching hands,

tasting each other,

falling away, being pulled with the tide

getting carried away and biting or scratching,

worrying about people hearing or seeing  yet not giving a damn,

pushing ones limitations but always feeling safe,

security and trust,

nurturing each other, drawing sustenance

and all the while learning and growing…

    beautiful

that is a correct interpretation of making love and how it should be. not some bumping and grinding for selfish release. two people totally absorbed in one another. its beyond the physical, it goes to the spiritual and emotional plane. to me the ultimate act of love between two people. your imagery was lovely. you gave the reader a view into a loving relationship.

    True!

This is so real. I love the part about having fun, making mistakes, giggling... how very true is that. Often we glamorize love-making into just what we see on tv and then we are left wondering why our experience wasn't the same. Everyone should read this one!!!

Kudos to you on this very real and very fresh poem!
