I walked by him on the street
could not turn and stare
only...
listen to the wind that came out of his
tooth rotted mouth
it was screaming, begging for assistance
some resistance from the cold air
"TAKE THESE DAMN SHOES"
Yeah, I couldn't really
really I shouldn't really
try to figure that out
I seen her on T.V.
could not turn and stare
only...
watch her tangled hair blow in the
wait, this air, why is it that weird dark color
but it was blowing, whirling around her and it was whispering,
"TAKE THESE DAMN SHOES"
but I turned the channel cause I couldn't really
shouldn't really
try to figure that out
I seen her in my apartment
no way I could stare
only...
watch her try to hide the black eye
she brushed past me and I swear,
maybe it was the air or something about the fact that
I tried not to stare
but I swear I heard
"TAKE THESE DAMN SHOES!"
but I went on down the hall because I couldn't really
really shouldn't
try to figure that out.
We all see them everywhere
we try not to stare
only...
take our own insecurities and
turn away
all the while there is this thing that piles
tries to come up from the inside to tell us
"TRY WALKING IN THEIR DAMN SHOES"
but I guess we shouldn't really
really we can't can we
try to figure that out.
