Okay, this is going to be kinda different.
Do you guys remember those books that we had when we were kids when you could read like 4 or 5 pages of a book and then at the bottom of the page it gave you options of what choice you wanted to have the character make? Then, whatever choice you made you had to turn to that page? Well, this contest is going to be something like that...
It will be a series contest, let me explain and pay close attention cause it may get difficult.
I am going to give you the start to a story, and then I will give you two choices on what you think the character should do, you pick the choice and write a poem about it. Then, in the next series, whoever one the gold will determine the next part of the story, thus, the next contest in the series is born.
There will be a second and third place, but only gold will determine the next chapter in the story.
Okay, so now that I have explained it to you, let me give you the story.
There is a war going on between the right and the left side of the world, it has been divided and there is total anarchy everywhere. We are being run completely totalitarian, we have no freedom and everything we do has to be answered to Big Brother. You live on the left side of the earth and are called upon by your government because you are the only one on earth who has the power to wipe out the left side and end the war.
Do you:
A:Take this opportunity to be a hero and end all life on the right side so that the left can live in peace?
B: Decide that you will not be held accountable for the complete destruction of so many people and turn this down?
So now you choose, what would you do, write me a poem explaining your choice and why, make it a poem though.
Rules: Make sure that you stick to the story, but I would like you to use your own personal beliefs too, it makes for better reading.

I like the idea of the interaction in this contest. I think that it might be a challenge, but most challenges are worth it. I like this very much.

by the looks of the comment just above mine, it seems you already have an eager contestant to this contest, Charna.
It's a great contest idea that will carry from one writer to another and allow for interaction in that. I also like the options to be posted along the way as to how the storyline develops. Sort of one of those alternate endings at the end of DVD's, though I think if it were my choice, I'd opt for "C" and stand one foot in the west and the other foot in the east and remind both sides that I have ALL the power--THE END!
