Why isn’t there enough food?
Kids, aberrant, and their starved parents.
Their tummies, transparent.
Their death, apparent.
Why isn’t there enough money?
Their status, poor; their lives, insecure.
Their hope, manure.
They can't endure.
Why is there disease?
Fast to spread. In kids’ bread.
Their eyes, chrome red.
Their parents, dead.
Why is there violence?
Guns shrill. Bullets kill.
Terrorists, “God’s will.”
They try to fulfill.
Why do these still exist?
I’ll say why. World’s gone awry.
Gun supply. Bullets whiz by.
Countries spy. People defy.
Army’s war cry. The soldiers die.
Let’s stop and focus on the tsetse fly.
On the skinny thighs. On the lack of rye.
Let’s help the poor live by. Let’s try.
Let’s bid meaningless war goodbye.
Author notes
One reason why poverty, violence, disease, and the lack of food exists: War.
War diverts resources from important issues.
BTW, I'm not one of those extreme pacifists.

I'm not a pacifist either. Hmm...People shouldn't say they do things in the name of God. Also...this is somewhat true and it seems more like it would be said in Africa- somewhat in America. You can find this anywhere, right? good write.

I like this. The rhyming is good. I love how the first line doesn't rhyme and all the rest do. The second to last stanza is great, it explains your point of view well. I like how it's kind of choppy, that works to create the kind of chaotic atmosphere for the poem. This poem made me think about how important some of the wars we fought have really been. Hate just makes pain whether it be religious or territorial. Great job!
