Xenogears Poem

He saw those violet eyes again
Turning his thoughts inwardly
As if lost within a memory
Or within a waking dream

Intertwined in dualistic illusions
Each eye glimpses a reflection of itself;
Of that deeply felt inner life unlived
Beyond the trappings of experience

A love unyielding fills her heart
Burgeoning from it’s holy source
Soul-searching she grasps outwards
To learn she’s felt this all along

Holy wisdom is a boon from her
The progenitor of all being
Weaving in and out of words and thoughts
Of which, in voice are inexpressible

Staring back at him
A pain, a sorrow, torn right out
Of the very fabric of his being

Staring back at her
The longing for unmitigated love
Of a child lost beyond recollection

And once again into these eyes
Each glaring into each other’s soul
Black eyes glimmering,
Violet eyes shimmering,
Awaiting the day that each will gaze
Upon the very fabric of their being
And quell the fears of that lost child
The day they shall awaken from this dream
Knowing that each wing that cannot lift them
Together will make two
And converging each declares to each
Love as their sole life source
As they fly into oblivion
