Praying For A Bullet

They'll press a barrel to your head
if you're not careful.
And take all your ideas
of this I'm sure.
You.
On the floor.
Do you raise your head in obedience
or cower beneath their mighty reins?
Can you count all the lies
they love to feed to you?
Shame is your three course meal.
Is your stomach hurting you now?
Are you bursting at the seams?
'Cause I know I am.
Go ahead puppet.
Scrape their mistakes off the floor.
Validate adultery and egos.
It’s just the web of deceit.
Spiders sucking the life from everything.
Whores in sheep’s clothing.
Raise your hands in defeat.
They’ll press a barrel to your head.
And they’ll take all you stand for.
Defining right from wrong.
Screwing up your morals.
You can’t tell your bible from their bullet.
They’ll put a barrel to your head.
And you’ll be praying for it.

Amazing poem! I really enjoyed reading this especially since it expressed such raw emotion and truth. The words flowed beautifully and the idea behind the poem was brilliant. Great job and I can't wait to check out more of your work,
