Hide & Seek

Back pressed against the wall with a finger to your lips
And that smirk of yours that always made me want to cry
Your pride, a halo, balancing on your brow
And your eyes just out of reach of mine
I’m not naïve anymore – but I’m still a child
Growing far too old for these silly games of yours
Can you come out now?
Cause it’s just not funny anymore

Author notes

Found this old poem on my computer. I'm happy to report I no longer feel this way, but I still like this piece, so I thought I would share.

I like it too. And you know what? it's about gosh darn time for me to be able to say that. I know I've said it a thousand times, but I really like this. I love the the first line and the tone and mood it sets. And I love the way you convey your feelings with that smirk that makes you want to cry. It's beautiful the way you used hide and seek in this peice. And I especially like the line about your eyes being just out of reach. I feel levels of meaning in it. This is a really great piece and I for one am really happy you decided to share it. Great write Papi, as always. Welcome Back? Au Revoir!
