I guess the leaves are changing,
as i again pick up my pen.
they drop and are blown away from me,
our warm weather fantasy gone also just then.
I guess the leaves are changing,
but the rain we knew so well is still here,
and shes still sitting at your side,
and writing for you still stirs up a nervous fear.
I guess the leaves are changing,
your love it keeps me warm,
but i can no longer claim it as my own,
and it is no longer mine in its purest form.
I guess the leaves are changing,
My words can no longer melt your heart,
you do not see my passion,
though you knew it was yours from the start.
I guess the leaves are changing,
As i see you kissing her neck,
i turn and run away from you,
knowing you have done the same in retrospect.
I guess the leaves are changing,
And as pink kisses the night sky,
i know that i am powerless to stop you,
like the changing seasons; you must pass by.
So i guess the leaves are changing,
and i guess that we are too,
but still i long for summer,
and i still long for you.

Love can bring joy, it can also bring pain and anguish. The pain from watching someone you love shower their affections on someone other than ourselves brings the worst pain! we see every little touch of affection, each endearing look that may pass between them and remember how it was us who, at one time were on the recieving end of that love and tenderness. Everything can change in the twinkling of an eye, yet, if we remember that, we also have hope, because we could once again be the one who finds another love, one that will be enduring and will last for a lifetime... yes, the leaves CAN change, for the good!
Thank you so much for the opportunity of being able to read this, I have enjoyed the contents of your poem, I especially like the idea of the repetitive line throughout your poem, that really does stand out, giving emphesis to the fact that life changes for us all.
Well Done!
