Sissy Sissy, My Guardian Angel

Feathers floated to the ground,
whispered, silently, without a sound.
Mouths moved, nothing being heard,
not until a little girl stirred.

Knocked on her door,
a creature no older than four.
A big grin on its face,
muttered "you're a disgrace."

Cuddled up in her little blanket,
trembling and sobbing she couldn't take it.
Daddy wasn't there, her Mommy didn't care.
Most unkind, life wasn't treating her fair.

Clinged to her teddy, fear filled her eyes,
not enough time to tell it wasn't her that lied.
Shadow loomed behind a sneer,
Droned on and on but she still couldn't hear.

"It wasn't my fault, please mommy don't!
I won't do it again, I swear I won't!
I didn't mean to do it, don't send me away!
I promise I'll be a good girl today!"

Bled through her shoulder, a cut done clean,
narrowly missed a fatal ending.
Sobbing hysterically nothing could stop her now,
her mommy would surely doom her somehow.

"Sissy why did you let her hurt me?
you laughed at me but I did nothing.
Just let me die I don't deserve to live,
you said I was a disgrace but I have nothing to give."

In truth her sister did care,
it was just she had to play there.
Mother would kill her if she knew her love,
so without a smile she spoke it off.

Laughed and scoffed her sister fled,
into the night where later she'd be found dead.
Heaped in a corner with her hands over her eyes,
she'd only learnt her mother's despise.

Realized the truth and fell to the cold,
the little girl came out quiet and bold.
Found her sister and covered her whole,
buried in love from heart to soul.

"Sissy sissy wait for me,
I know you didn't mean be mean.
I will come and be with you in a while,
be good sisters and we'll always smile.

Sissy sissy my Guardian Angel above,
you were the one who needed my love.
we could've gone together but now you stand,
waiting alone to come hold my hand."

Cried at her grave, alone in the cold,
the mother heard what the girl had told.
And later that night a dreadful storm began,
when in that light, the sister's finally joined hands.

"Sissy sissy, I'm here for you, you see?
I'm so happy you waited for me.
Now we can be happy together,
be sisters hand in hand, forever."

Rested side by side, grave by grave,
enveloped by the love one sister gave.
Taught the other to love in return,
"oh mother mother we hope you burn."

Author notes

Yeah. It didn't come out the way I wanted, but I like my poem. <3
