Come on boys, belly up to the bar!
Welcome back home, I know yall've traveled far.
Just dust yourselves off, relax a spell,
listen close now, I've got sum gossip to tell.
Well the sheriff dun caught,
that varmit he was lookin for.
And Lucas, the old drunk,
he dun up shot the General Store.
The next thing that happened, I'm shore ya'll find,
was payback from the creator, like his gift to mankind.
Well Clive's wife had finally took all she could,
when he started hittin her, she grabbed a piece of wood.
She clobbered him on the shoulder, arm, then his head,
the poor woman didn't stop, till he winded up dead.
She runned and got the sheriff, tole him what she dun,
with her blacked eye and bruises, he didn't blame her none.
So him and some town folk, real quick dug Clive a grave,
throwed him in the hole, said it was fittin for how he dun behave.
Now he tole her not to worry, she ain't committed no crime,
then this surprise, he said he wants to wed her in time!!
Then the next thing that happened, Abe's prize winnin bull,
got aloose in town, chargin ever thing, actin a fool.
Busted up some wagons, skeered all the woman folk,
scattered Harley's chickens, finally cornered him by the Parson's oak.
So boys can't ya'll see, that since ya'll dun bin gone,
all hell dun broke loose, like the devil come to spawn!

very nice. I like the phrases you used, and the way you used the old time language. The rhyme is good except bull and fool don't rhyme. Very nice write though!(:
