The BLACK KNIGHT stood with his blade held high --
It is not I who shall die today.
The WHITE KNIGHT smiled just short of a grin,
his blade resting secure in its sheath.
'Die,' you say -- you face me with sword held high; that shows me your fear to die.
You say to me, 'I shall not die today -- that says to me you believe you may.
The BLACK KNIGHT laughed and bent one knee, 'O kind sir, you have bested me. You have faced your enemy from deep within . . but we shall face again one day; then we'll see who is afraid'.

The War With Fear. Definately a war faced by many. Your dark and light portray the battle with us all. As with the light, if we face our fear, we may overcome it and with no war, no casualties. Good image. Of course as your dark knight stated, fear will come again, and not just fear, sometimes we face evil, within and without. There are always choices to be made that's for certain. I enjoyed the poem as written as well, without the message in it. Great write my friend! Niaish for sharing. hugs

Very well written and this little bit of moral certainly says much. Our fears are always there with us, the dark side will raise its head as you say. As long as one holds true to their faith, darkness will never win. I loved this much. Thanks so much for sharing and showing us all your wisdom.

I pictured...
...the Kights vividly, blue sky, a few white clouds and the two guys facing one another in a clearing. Bright armour glinting in the sun, good v evil. We all have a choice in life and hopefully we take the right path and go the right way Slaying the evil knight! WASP.

Short and just wonderful! The metaphor is very interesting – you have employed it very well to serve the purpose of you poem. Correct me if I understood it wrong - the Black Knight is the fear and the White one is our own inner self.
I really like the ending – it is very wholesome and not meaningless which is important.
The poem is very good, but in some parts it is a bit confusing. Maybe because of the way dialog is represented – I’m not exactly sure.
Don’t mind my words much – it is just an opinion of a complete poetry loser.
Thank you for entering and I expect to see you in the next round.
Regards,
Jan

Evil when faced by pure truth alwasy bows in defeat. Mr. Joe

Quite an interesting tale. I found it quite amusing. yes, many of us live in fear and it controls us. Nicely done, with class.
