From far away they write!

From far away they write!

I almost can imagine just how they must feel,
being in a place that seems so darn unreal.
No contact with the outside world, no flowers they can smell,
I wonder if I could survive in a place that looks like hell.

Then I found this website any soldier.com,
I saw that we could contact them and send them things from home.
To brighten up their day and let them know their not alone!

Do you know not everyone will get a letter or two,
the only mail they might get may just come from you.
A package would be nice fulled with needed things,
but all they really want is someone to say THANKS!

I was so surprised that they even took the time
to write me a letter saying I was kind.
What if I sent my e-mail so they can write when their on line,
this way might be faster when they have so little time.

All it takes is one minute to write upon a card,
then a couple more to walk it out the door.
If only you could see the faces it will meet,
and how it embraces the hearts of this country.

Author notes

I have gotten some very nice thank you from people all over. I`m glad to bring them a smile.

What a sweet gesture this is. I am sure that any news from home is welcomed. Be it family, friends or just the average run of the mill fellow American. You are so thoughtful and generous with your time.

    Sincerely,
    Leo Long
