We have all heard stories about hell.
How if we are not good during our life,
Then we will go to hell.
That the Devil lives in a bottomless pit.
Some parents have even told their kids,
if they were not good then the devil would come and take them straight to hell.
I myself have never done that.
I know that there is evil in this world that for sure.
I have heard pastor tell the people that there is a hell.
That it is a place with fire and brimstone there.
I myself I know that or a fact,
That without evil there would no good.
For how would we know good?
If we did not know evil.
For without evil to compare good to,
We would not know in difference between the two.
I know for a fact that there is life after death.
For this has been proven.
But as for hell I can’t really say I have not been there.
I know that there has been times,
That I thoughtmy life was a living hell.
I do believe that we will pay for the evil,
Things that we do on this Earth.
But as for hell that is something,
I hope I will never know.

The evil is closer then we think...
And our shadow is its hide...
I do believe that we will pay for the evil,
Things that we do on this Earth.
But as for hell that is something,
I hope I will never know.

Wow this was awsome.. Words cant really describe how I felt or thought when I read it. I dont really want to go to hell, well maybe if it is true that all gay people will be there.

There is no such thing as cold… we call it cold but it is just lack of heat… perhaps evil is just lack of good or kindness…

my feelings are the same as you... a bit different, but very similar... more like an inner hell, where we are supposed to learn from our "evil" doings in between lives, and when we hopefully have learned them, then we are reborn, waiting for the inspiration to step across...

A very interesting write...with much debatable material contained within ....always enjoy poems that are thought provoking , or could initiate some form of reaction .....
Life after death ??? Mmmmm... Fact or Fiction ? No one has ever lived to tell have they ???
Bright lights and Tunnels = Hallucinations ?? Think so many would have differing opinions...
I think life after death is the legacy of loved ones after they have departed....you live on in those left behind....through memories....through those that remain to remember...
The concept of heaven or hell ? ...Its all around us...war ... famine...poverty...drugs...being in love...chasing dreams...finding those fleeting moments of happiness....think we live both to the extreme during a given lifetime...
As for good vs evil...both exist within us all...

right on!!! i support your words and i love the background and stuff....since i was a kid i've been told about this hell, and heaven, and i have drawn my own conclusions about them both since...only that it wasn't my parents telling me these stories, it was always an outside force trying to, i think, control me to be a good little boy....but yes...i agree with most that you say here and i like the way you put it into words...

This was an awesome poem and ya know I have had the same thought myself. Is there really a hell? I thought God forgives all. I know that we are not supposed to question the Lord, but I know plenty of people who have done so many wrongs. And I know that there is no way they are in hell whether or not they asked for forgiveness. My grandfather was by no means a saint. He cheated on and abused my grandmother, but when he died my mother saw a gleam of light shine on his casket. This was a cloudy day and no one else saw the light. Members of my family also had dreams about him receiving angel's wings. I am not saying that he belonged in hell because I have no place to judge, but he did some really bad things and there is no doubt in my mind that he is in heaven. Everyone has good in them and I know God sees it. I don't believe that God would send anyone with a shred of good in their soul to hell. Haha I am rambling. I have a tendency to do that. I loved this poem, it was very well written. Great Write!
