Leaving her empty cold bed alone
She set out in the middle of the night
Heart aching, tears falling
She goes there to Poseidon's kingdom
Searching for peace and freedom
Watch me as I wither she screams to him
But whom am I talking to you can't even feel my pain
A shadow of a young spirit she lies there waiting…
Waiting for someone to pour life into her
To warm her aching soul
To keep her out from all that darkness and foul
There she slept with nightmares crawling over her
Taking her breath suffocating her
On that beach she dreamt of the prince she lost
And there she saw him bending from up above
Trying to capture her senses again
Hollow as her life is without him
There in Poseidon's kingdom she surrendered to him
Floating with each other
Two happy Angels
She finally had her peace …
Author notes
i know that this might sound as sad but every one of us is searching for peace and she had hers with the one she loved so that is a happy ending hope it fills the contest requirements

She gets to be with her prince in the end? I see that as a happy ending, but you are right that the tone of the poem is sad. Thanks for entering my contest.
