fixation

A circle unknown to Dante
Surpasses both paradise and inferno.
A cruel Shepard
Of neon, electric glow.
His rays,
Gallivanting around,
Boasting gloats of supremacy.
Technology of simplicity, renowned.

Streets of glazing asphalt
Burn our senses
And litter our minds,
Smoging our defences.

Fading, luminescent lights
Bronze our wistful eyes.
Pleasures of artificiality;
Bluffs, lasers, and lies,
Take lead to truth and rationality.

A beautiful world of heaps and dumps,
the pungent smell of success.
No matter the action one takes;
lie down, speak, confess,
the sins are forgotten.
Welcome to our creation,
dragging, booming, destroying;
the lovely infantile fixation.

Author notes

    To be honest the word choice is great but the poem itself would have looked better with more rhymes.Thanks for entering and best of luck
