My dear friend sappz, I've found you by chance
Your heart I adore, makes mine want to dance
In letters to you some of our hearts seem to fit
I think I've fallen in love with your kindred wit
In our banter, so playful and so smurfy in theory
brought memories long gone, back to a heart so weary
Memories of my youth when I could always rely
on the magic of blue faeries, only three apples high
100 smurfy smurfs who lived in houses made of shroom
Never failing when I watched to cast away gloom
I won't name them all when this poem is through
100 smurfy ways in which I'm thinking of you
I'll be your Papa Smurf, so wise in smurfy pride
and lend smurfy ear when you need to confide
I'll be your Poet Smurf, and write odes unto you
but as you smurf now this has already come true
I'll be your Clumsy, knocking knick knacks askew
but I'll make up for it all when I fall hard for you
I'll be your Dreamy, this has also come true
for I dream every day about being with you
I'll be your Handy Smurf, so useful indeed
and fix anything broken you happen to need
I'll be your Lazy, and yet not be a slouch
happy to stay home and just cuddle on the couch
I'll be your Brainy, dispensing wisdom like pez
but don't toss me on my head, Papa Smurf always says
I'll be your Grouchy, yeah that's right, I'll hate
every last smurfin thing that keeps me from my mate
I'll be your Jokey, Yes don't open it you'll surmise
but don't ask me what the smurfs in it. "Its a surprise!"
I'll be your Painter, painting in so smurfy a hue
my greatest masterpizza, a smurfy portrait of you
I would like to be your Tailor Smurf but I honestly can't sew
but if I see you clad in lingerie, I won't complain you know
I would like to be your Baker Smurf and I'm not meaning to boast
but wait until you taste it, I make a smurfilicious slice of toast
Should Azrael give chase with Gargamel giving looks askew
I'll be your Hefty Smurf and come running to rescue you
You'll be my dear Smurfette and at times your tail I'll slap
In lust I'll chase it around, trying to bite it and yelling "GNAP!"
100 smurfy ways in which I'm lately thinking of you
One for every smurf and perhaps one day they may come true
If so our lives will be smurfy and I'll make smurf love with you
and we'll do it till both our faces has turned a smurfy blue

In playfully,loving,fondness, I dedicate this to uziphiel aka: Sappz Aka: Melissa. It is because of her that I am here on AllPoetry to begin with. She turned me onto this site. I may not know her as much as I'd like to but I know enough that we have several strong things in common and one of them being our sense of humor. I hope in time to know her better and in the meantime hope that she likes this and doesn't kick the living SMURF outta me.
In my chats with Melissa the subject of smurfs came up which of course triggered nostalgia in my mind of the days I spent looking forward to the saturday morning cartoons. One comment she sent me was enough to both trigger this warm and welcomed nostalgia and tickle my muse to no end. It was this line
"i'm smurfette and your my new smurfy boyfriend lalalala lalalala..." which tickled my muse and became the birth mother of the poem you see here. Though the smurfs song goes more like "Na-na nananana nananana-na!" It's just so amazing to me how one sentence can inspire a whole poem, even a novel if it tickles your muse just right. Ahh the magic of imagination. Thank you very much Melissa for the fond memories and inspiration.
Anyhow I'm sure this is a write that many smurf lovers out there can appreciate (come on I know you love em) and I hope you enjoy it. If not then I'll have to pelt you all with smurfberries. Till then have fun and be smurfy.

Yeah smurfs are real, didn't you know that?? I have several smurfy friends in the woods by my house. We smurf around all the time. Its really smurfy.

*truckingpain* Thanks alot! It did get a bit deeper than I expected it too as I wrote it but I fugured "what thehell" if the feelings are there write em. I definitly miss the earliest of the "good ole days" Where saturday cartoons were the thing and ma and pa used to yell at me for pulling up the grasss in the yard to make roads for my Hot Wheels. Haha who knows maybe someday I'll be yellin at kids of my own for doing the same thing.
I hope she does like it. She doesn't come on much but has been on yesterday and hasn't said anything yet. Hard to say what will happen when you meet online just as when you meet in person for that matter. Either way, thanks for the encouragement. -
This was absolutely wonderful, great writing as usual, but there was a great message and deep emotion coming through in a humerous light kind of way.
Wow you opened the flood gates to the happy carefree times of childhood bliss. Saturday morning cartoons, eating fruity pebbles (or coco pebbles)...
Oh and I am sure she'll love it... I think she should give ya a chance... -

You are the absolute BEST for putting this out there. Smurfs were the best and there are not many people who keep them known to the younger generation. WOW I took a really trippy fall down memory lane. Way to go for making me feel all smurfy inside.
