Images of forgotten dreams,
Trapped in the light of day.
Bristling leaves catching memories,
And letting the light of pasts forge through them.
Unbalanced, and blurred by tears,
Letting the pain of the future wash away.
Look up and see through the light,
To the tree of life in the midst of a gray world.
Spinning in an orbit around fear,
Drawn to your inner strength.
A dream of a world of light,
Forever in the mind.

Lovely, ethereal, the kind of poetry that leaves me feeling as if I've just been stroked by the cosmos. Can't ask for more than that I suppose, so thank you very much for entering my contest and allowing me to read this piece.

great
I like everything about this one. You create an interesting paradox with the images being trapped in the light of day. Usually daylight is used as a revealing image. Combined with the metaphor of a tree - fantastic.

we can dreams afloat and let them drift but those that draws us back again we can take hold and keep a goal to work toward
you have penned a poem which smoothly flows has good imagery fueled by emotive description while allowing the reader to slip into their own thoughts as you guide the lines of thinking
Thank you for the pleasure of this read
nice one

I really loved the word-usage of this piece. The meter was a little 'off' but obviously in free verse it doesn't matter. Great job on this, and I liked how you painted such a nice picture with your words.
