We have a tree and I use them for lemonaid, lemon tea, lemon pie and my secret for sparkling white socks is to cut the lemons in half (2 0r 3) Squeeze the juice into a bucket of very hot water, let the white socks soak for a few hours. Then wash them as you normally would in detergent and a bit of bleach. I just did that for my son when he came to visit. His socks were .... well, he's homeless so you can imagine. The lemon juice makes them white but also sanitizes.
