Beautiful Quietude
The beauty in the silent sound,
in darkness thoughts seem profound.
Time to belong, to only me,
I close my eyes and beauty see.
Beauty lies in quiet night ,
in stillness lay in sheer delight.
Such loveliness in quietude,
mindful pleasures shall not elude.
The quietness in midnight call,
imagination to enthrall.
Silence is golden, a pleasure,
sunrise peaks with morning treasure.
The beauty of my soundless sleep,
thinking, dreaming, in mind to reap.
Visions filter without pretenses,
captured essence fills my senses.
To hear nothing brings a smile,
thoughts meander for awhile.
Loveliness is magnified,
filled with grace, beautified.

Yes being alone in quietude can be a special treasure, especially if you know God. It is in times of peace and quiet that he speaks in his small still voice. I think that is why God says "be still and know that I God"

First of all I was impressed by the image you've used for the poem. Maybe you're the one who created it. And 'bout the poem, it's one of the best I've read ever in my life. Wow! yes, I can relate to this so well! I love to walk alone, be one with nature, and just feel the beauty of quietude. It is not a depressing feeling, even though I am alone. It is a special contemplative feeling. I can enjoy life and it's uniqueness. Thank you for the read. Best wishes in the contest!

Silence can be eerie to some but I love the quiet times.You have captured quite beautifully as you say, the beauty of silence. Most of my pieces are written when I am alone, at home, soaking up the silence. My thoughts flow freely and Im sometimes shocked at what comes out. Well done and thanx for sharing this wonderful piece of writing.
