4 - Without a Sound

Shaken out of a dream I catch a glimpse of the future

as the wind whips relentless through the trees

Each sense alerted to the coming torrential downpour

can you envision this battle in the heavenlies?

A thunderous roar fully commands my attention

as a blinding light slices through the skies

Anguish bearing heavily upon the air I breathe

dare I wonder at the very sight before my eyes?

A force unequalled to anything here on earth

holds back the hand from anger unfurled

Chilling me to the core as conflict is born

who will wake up the faithless sleeping world?

Startled by the sheer curtain of weightless might

my mind is overcome by the depravity before me

Drawing me back to the contest of good versus evil

will their blinded eyes be opened, will they finally see?

Faint whispers echo in my heart resonating love

as they war on with the sword of your word

Peace envelops me as your assurance rings true

will you go now and make my message heard?

A resigned sigh escapes as I look up in awe

each droplet languidly falling to the ground

Swathed upon the sky a smile from heaven

reminding us of His love without a sound

Genesis 9:12-17
12 And God said, "This is the sign of the covenant I am making between me and you and every living creature with you, a covenant for all generations to come: 13 I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth. 14 Whenever I bring clouds over the earth and the rainbow appears in the clouds, 15 I will remember my covenant between me and you and all living creatures of every kind. Never again will the waters become a flood to destroy all life. 16 Whenever the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and all living creatures of every kind on the earth." 17 So God said to Noah, "This is the sign of the covenant I have established between me and all life on the earth."

This is a poem that is full of imagery. You have painted a very vivid picture with your words. You have wielded the brush of an artist.
