I Cannot Go

My eyes are closed once again

Lying here, I wait for the end

Breathing slowly in quiet motion

I have not yet noticed the commotion

The white door has come back

Offering to replace all I lack

As I carefully reach for the bright hue

My thoughts are flooded with memories of you

Your loving smile and gentle touch

I will always know why I love you so much

I think for a moment and then understand

I am not ready for this life to end

My heart still has so much love to give

All I need is one more chance to live

I cannot let go of my physical being

At this moment I am all knowing and seeing

The call has been made for me to go

But I cannot deny how I love you so
