Strong Enough?

Is it a question of whether I miss you

or a game of truth or dare?

Are you trying to prove you’re stronger,

or make me carry my share?

 

Some questions can’t be answered

by the mortal man.

I want to hold you closely

and show you who I am.

 

But I can’t back down this final time.

It is a question of merit.

I need to know I am strong enough

to have my love and share it.

    the gentle man loves to love
    swings wide the gates of his heart
    welcoming the world and all its flaws
    with open arms

    I've known your strength from the beginning. Your capacity for love awes me and I envy the easiness with which you touch the souls of those closest to you.

    I view the world through the cracked lense of a cynic. Forgive me for that.

    I hope that in your soul searching you come to realize just how precious and potent a gift your heart is. And I hope you can understand why I wish - with *all* my heart - that when you give your heart away that your love is truly cherished and returned in words, actions and emotion.
