How many times must I apologize to you?
The other me, the one you hate
Is not the one I meant to be
No, she's not me.

The mistakes I've made are mere reminders
Glaring at me each day
Set in the stone of my fragile skin
To never try them again.

But no matter how hard I try
I cannot obey my admonisher
My heart goes in a different direction
Away from what is right
