voices
so many voices
so much sound surrounding
the flutter of a thousand butterflies' wings
the rhythm of a single heartbeat
a crash of glass
a sigh of satisfaction
a melody carried on the wind

My grandmother used to attest; "silence is golden". I once wished for silence. Now I have it and dearly miss the noise. My children are grown and have left the home. I miss the laughter, tears, arguing, thunder of feet up and down the staircase... Sometimes the silence is endearing but after raising four children, I need some noise. LOL I do understand your mindset here Poet. I love your use of metaphors. This is expressed with a sense of yearning and well presented poetically. Excellent! I am sure all readers will easily relate to your poetry.

    Much Love ♥
