for the number of places
a piece of tape can stick to
between my finger tips and
the trash can.
It takes on a life of it's own,
adhering 'here', before it's unstuck
from 'there'.
It curls, and grows fuzz.
A caterpillar before FINALLY
landing in the trash can.
And the mascara smudge,
tiny on my thumb,
flattens and widens
when I try to make it disappear.
It becomes a small blotch
on the front of my clean tee shirt.
Spot eradicator makes it double
in size (and intensity)..square
in the middle of the official
company picnic shirt.
And I'm in the car on the way there!!!!
I carry my purse strategically
to cover the ever growing black
target on my tummy.
(Could it BE anymore centered?)
Author notes
I was not a big fan of "Mr. Bean"...till lately..and now we
have something in common. I have that Sagittarian clumsiness, and sometimes..it can be embarassing..
Oh..and should you wonder, the mascara did wash out.
Perhaps you just had to be there.

I love Mr Bean and my sister actually met him once at a fete..I have my clumsy phases and it can be so frustrating when you feel like an bull in a china shop.Hope you are well and have a good weekend

we have those clumbsy moments where we HOPE the world doesn't see how much a fool we just made of ourselves... yet the universe has a perverse sense of humor...I just it's teaching us the in things there is a sense of humor.
Keep penning on one stroke at a time!

Well, I left out the time I was reading in the breakroom, and our big boss came through. He stopped to speak for a moment and I just pushed my reading glasses up to the top of my head...My hair was layered at the time and when I went back to reading..they had gotten tangled up in my hair. Even MZ (the big boss) was laughing. And then there is the jean incident (I'll NEVER tell about that one.) , and the dryer sheet fiasco that I have written about before.
Thanks, Leo..for reading. Hope all is well.

The church episode is my absolute favorite. I mean the expression on his face when he reaches back into his pocket always makes me laugh. Thanks for reading

Easy to do, isn't it? I mean it's so easy to be caught up in whatever you are working on and not notice those little nicks. I guess we all have those "Mr. Bean" moments. Thanks for reading this one and for your comment.

Oh, yeah. That teapot skit was classic. My oldest daughter had bought the set of DVD's and no matter how many times you see them..they still make you laugh. Thanks for the comment

At least with mascara you have some semblance of dignity remaining. It's much harder to maintain your sauveness with yesterday's lunch on your shirt. So I can sympathise with your plight.

HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHA! Very refreshing and cool, I'm always cutting and nicking myself and never know or feel it, I never realize what's happened until I'm embarrassed by someone saying to me ,"oh my goodness you're bleeding!" Then I'm like, really? Where?

The part of the trash can made me smile. I remember that Mr. Bean episode well. Didn't he have a tea pot or something on his hand and then somehow stick his hand into the trash bin while trying to get a number out while waiting for the doctor? Well, anyway, this was funny to read. I have loved watching those Mr. Bean shows since the '90s. It's a great show. Anyway, great job on this piece. Keep up the good work.
