Down the street
Across from the old cemetery
There lays a young girl in the town square
For the world to see
A mortal phantom
Something even time has forgotten
she lay there with blood pouring from her shattered body
The weapon that caused her death not far
My eyes show the world
Everything she'd felt in her last moments of living
All the pain and thought in her mind
Forever mirrored in her eyes
People draw back in fear
Because she resemble what every human dreads
The death of ones being
They all stare at her lifeless body, cowardly.
she lay there in blood stained clothes
The tattered black dress reflects what this girl had once felt
Everyone realizes that it can't be avoided
Pain of being a human. and sometimes it is to much for one.
she is how she is now
Because of her own insanity
She's merely nothing more then a lifeless shell now, once human
But people still fear what she represent to them, death
Are people that afraid of the unavoidable mortal death?
It merely brings us to our end...
And the Grim Reaper takes us away.
No matter who you are.
But as she lay there among the living
They look at her both in fear and sorrow
Are people even capable of feeling pain of losing someone
they don't even know in their lives?
As her blood poured out of my once living veins
They stand testament to this once mortal phantom
Who's life was not meant to be
The blood stands for the tears she could not cry while alive...

Author notes
This is and old poem of mind that was originally written in first person. this is the newer version in third person. that is better suited for the sequel "Tears of a Phantom".

Nice job. It's got a nice flow to it, not like many poems where you get all confuzzled. Good luck in the contest.
-
Nice work. you need to work on your grammar and punctuation!

Great
This was an amazing piece. I liked the way you described everything and told readers what the world thought of the girl. It's very sad though I believe it's true. -
thank you very much. and the painting a picture mentally was the idea behind the poem.
-
