As I walked along the seashore
collecting shells along the bay
I saw a little bottle
floating not so far away
So I waded through the water
until the water met my hips
I reached out and scooped it up
inside was a sailing ship
The toy inside this bottle
looked aged from salt and lime
As I sat down on the beach
my mind drifted back in time
Did the ship in this small bottle
sail across the mighty seas
Floating ever with the currents
through time and space with ease
Did the boy that held this bottle
grow to be an old, old man
Did he cast it in the ocean
for a voyage that he began
Through all time this little ship
has sailed and not been broken
In my hands I held answers
to questions never spoken

HOODWINKED !!!
Fifth Dove,
This is a Delightful narrative that flows with much grace and ease. In this open ended poem you ask some good questions and leave it to be pondered by your readers imagination. Well Done!
You have been Hoodwinked by the Poetic Bandits today because WE CARE!

This is a wonderfully imaginative poem, Cindy It makes me wonder along with you, the story behind this ship's travels through time.
The cadence and rhyme are perfect. I really like it
