Hearing but not seeing
Thousands of others fleeing
Being concerned about
A cave called Trout
Conduct the last wave
A sorceress called Maeve
Clear blue
A T-rex called Sue
Fresh homemade pie
Widens the eye
Envelope
Nope
Stay calm
Chant the Psalm
Always complaining
Forever blaming
The cat goes mew
What else is new?
Author notes
This was an attempt at a surreal poem for my creative writing class. The funny thing is, it really turned out being a clash of many of the thoughts going through my head or events in my recent life. Heh, funny how that happens.

This is so whimsical, ahh it makes me happy. I guess it is so upbeat because you rhyme- we're not allowed to rhyme in my creative writing class, can you believe that? The prof (who reminds me of this creepy, Russian witch holding a skull)says that "it's not sophisticated enough"- hello? have you ever heard of epic poetry- I'd like to see someone walk in Chaucer's shoes, huh-huh! This is a cool poem- it would be even better if you use some sensory detail, yay sensory detail!! And it's so fragmented- I like fragments, yay fragments!! I guess that's what makes it so surreal. Great!!!
