I am leaving. For good. No more coming back.
This site has provided a lot for me; a place to improve my writing, helped with my confidence, and helped me meet a lot of great people.
However, it has opened my eyes to the amount of 'bad' people, on and off this site. The amount of people I’ve had to talk to because of plagiarism, has made me sick.
A few weeks ago, I found one of my most personal poems on someone’s blog on a Pakistani website. No, I am not racist, but I found it extremely annoying that the girl hadn't even provided a link to readers showing where she got the poem from, or even said that she didn't write it.
It took me 10 days to get hold of her; I had to sign up to the website which took a week, then a further three days for her to respond to my message and actually remove my poem, without an apology.
Now I know it seems childish, but this is only one example of the shit people have done with my work. And I am fucking sick of it.
I am not stopping writing however. I am just leaving this site. Don't try and change my mind, it won’t work.
I am moving to a more exclusive site. Don't ask what it is, I won’t tell you unless I really like you. In which case, I will tell you without you asking me. If I don't tell you, don't ask. Comprendez?
I will be deleting all of my work from here, to give people less of a chance to steal it when I am not here.
For those of you who have made my time here a pleasure, I thank you and I hope you keep writing and aspire to greater and greater things.
To those who have made my life hell, well all I have to say is
'What ye send forth comes back to thee,
So ever mind the rule of three.'
Again, thank you too all who I have made friends with, and I hope we don't drift apart but stay in contact.
