Beyond the night

Missing image
Behold my love
and give him praise
for I am weak
and yet I find
strength in his touch

His body fails him
muscles loosing power
to age and injury
and yet he lifts
my soul to the heavens

He sings to me
of the way life should be
and reminds me
that adversity
only conquers us if we let it

My love is faithful
he loves me in the darkness
his fingers worship me
chasing the shadows
somewhere beyond the night

He finds perfection
in the flaws of my body
and the blemishes on my soul
he transforms faults into beauties
with his bountiful caress

He consecrates our love
with the power of his lips
whispering words
that bind our spirits
to the infinite universe

Behold my love
and give him praise
for our love endures
-through pain and disappointment-
and it’s breath echoes
beyond the night.
