People say that love is the best feeling
That love will make you do some crazy things,
But, why?
Are the people you want,
Really for you?
Do you just so strongly believe;
That this person is for you;
That you make them yours?
Could the whole world really been given to you?
Could you care for someone so much;
That your tears turn into fire;
When they do something that makes you upset?
Could really give them what they want;
What they really need?
Could they full fill your empty space?
Could the whole world really been given to you?
Can you really keep someone for the rest of your life;
Without falling in love with another;
Without dealing pain the their heart?
Can you really say love with a straight face?
Can you promise to live them forever,
And love them for the rest of your life?
Can you really promise to not leave them,
And keep that promise for when things are at their lowest?
Could the whole world really been given to you?
Can love really take its toll?
Can it really stay with you forever;
Or is this all some sort of dream;
That we all want to believe;
So we can fall asleep at night;
And dream of this perfect person....

Very nicely done and of course, 'love' is the meat of the poet's existence, has always been...will always be...
To offer perhaps a philosophical consideration to your poetic question, I think perhaps one must acknowledge or feel beyond doubt, the true lonliness of existence before one can truly understand the life-long journey in search for a kindred soul with which to ameliorate that lonliness.
Of course, one can just 'dabble' with life and love, flit from flower to flower and sample the sweetness and move on or one can even abstain from sampling, afraid of failing or rejection, or the competition that inevitably occurs in pursuit of the 'perfect' match....
ah, well...nuff said
well done!
