We leprechauns have our weaknesses
mine was racing, to beat the darn bow
I won I thought, but I was under the pot
I guess that time; it was just a bit slow
Trapped at the end of my rainbow
squished under that pot of gold
I had to chew my own leg off
it was a pitiful sight to behold
A shinny new peg, I be wearing
while hiding all of my riches
Stopped by a tree to take a pee; Darn!
I’ve been caught by the seat of my britches
He says he wants his 3 wishes
he says it was his lucky day
This peg leg leprechaun started to grin
just from the thought of running away
Then "it" happened, my peg leg fell off
but his friend is going to hand it to me
Then, in the twinkle of an Irish eye
he was gone! Oh where can he be?
Well that dirty rotten scoundrel
he up and ran away with my peg
But I’ll be back to grant your wishes
just as soon as I find my leg

Hood Winked
This is a beautifully penned poem, I can very well picture myself in little classes when we heard such tales followed by our own endless laughter.
I can imagine the leprechaun and the thought in the last line, I find that too funny to stand forth a huge applause.
Also, heartiest congratulations on winning the silver, I wonder what did the Gold do to win this? Could it have been better?
Anyways,
Take Care,
Northern Star.
