Magical Thinking
Have you ever wished that you had a magic wand? Have you ever thought you would like it if you could just snap your fingers and see your wishes come true? I have wonderful news for you. No, I'm not going to give you a magic wand. You don't need one. The magic lies in The Power Of Thought.
Let's examine what thought is. The brain is composed of cells called Neurons. Neurons transmit electrical charges through neurotransmitters, firing synapses along the nerves for every action that your body makes down to the slightest twitch of a finger. Consider the basic structure of matter that comprises everything in the Universe. A molecule is a stable entity or aggregate of two or more atoms. Atoms are composed of particles called Protons, Neutrons and Electrons. Quantum mechanics have established that these particles broken down further, are devised of components called Quarks.
If you could look inside these infinitesimally tiny components of matter, you would see a "string" of pure compacted energy. Matter, when broken down to its smallest component is pure energy. We are composed of matter, and matter is composed of energy; as is every single thing that exists within the Universe, defined within The Sympathetic Vibratory Laws of Physics, or "Universal Laws." So we are beings of energy. All energy perpetually vibrates and is transmitted in a wave. Everything in our world is energy in an organized field and therefore has a particular frequency. The chair you're sitting on, your car, your cat, dog, you and everything else including thoughts, has a field of energy or vibration. Our thoughts are transmissions of organized energy that bring into effect a reaction. Any given vibration gives rise to a complex, yet simple series of subordinate vibrations known generally as harmonics and these harmonics are relative to one another.
Science has identified particular ranges of frequencies and is able to measure them. Negative energies, like anger and rage, measure very low on the scale, while positive energies like those given off by prayer and meditation reach the highest measurements. One Universal Law, is "The Law of Attraction" which simply stated demonstrates that, like attracts like. The frequency of the vibrations you are transmitting with your thoughts will attract other events or energies that vibrate at the same frequency. When you have a negative thought or feeling you are drawing to you a negative experience. We give our thoughts even more power when we voice them. Have you ever heard: "If it wasn't for bad luck, I'd have no luck at all." ? At the moment they think so or state it, it becomes true.
The old adages, "believe in yourself" or "it's all about attitude" are not psycho-babble. Thoughts are concrete transmissions of energy at a certain frequency which has no choice but to attract corresponding events or energies vibrating at the same frequency that manifest in reality. Your thoughts create your reality.
The magic comes when you learn to intentionally direct your own thoughts and consequently, their effect. You need to learn to "outlaw" negative thoughts and impulses within your own consciousness, as well as direct your thoughts effectively to create specific positive results. Pay attention to the words of those around you. If someone is insecure, they constantly make self-disparaging comments. "I'm not very talented." "I have no will power." "I can't." That's the big one. "I can't" cripples more people than any physical limitations of the body. When teaching the process of thinking positively, people tell me that they are not in control of their own train of thought. If not, then who is? If you believe you are not in control of it, then you create the reality that you are not in control of it. What you project into the Universe with your thoughts, you will create.
Of course, in order to gain control once you realize that you can, you may have to overcome a lifetime of inadvertent conditioning. When you begin the intentional path of Magical Thinking; you may find a "hacker" in your system undermining the process with a negative thought. If you do, where ever you are, close your eyes and visualize or imagine a chalkboard, or white erasable board with that negative thought written on it. In your mind, see yourself walk up to the board, pick up an eraser, and erase the thought from the board. Then pick up the chalk or marker and visualize yourself writing a positive thought in it's place. Do this literally, you need to actually walk through this process step by step in your mind's eye. Additionally you may find that external negativity bombarding you, may seep in, causing you to be infected with it. A good tool to prevent this is a visualization of "oil in your feathers". Ducks can swim, as well as fly in the rain without getting wet. This is due to the oil in their feathers, water hits them and the oil causes it to bead up and roll off without getting them wet. You can minimize the effect of negativity in your surroundings by closing your eyes and visualizing negativity rolling off your back like water off a duck's back.
You can direct the omnipotent power of thought in a process with the precision of that "Magic Wand". The process is commonly known as Creative Visualization. The elements of the process are: Focus, Intent, Visualization, Affirmation, Expectation, Confidence, Belief, and Will.
Focus:
You need to think positively all the time; though Creative Visualization is best when you set aside time to project your Magical Thinking through a specific focused process. Like meditation, or yoga, Creative Visualization is best achieved in a serene setting, in a calm, balanced state of mind. Create an atmosphere that enhances this. Place a pad, or a blanket or even a bearskin rug on the floor with a small table nearby. Light a candle with a pleasing scent. Put on calm, soothing music. You may place objects representative of your desire or a crystal to provide a focal point on the table. Most importantly, turn off the phone, the TV, and prevent disruptions. Place all of your attention on what you are doing. Focus!
Intent:
Be specific. Generalized projections are important and beneficial, but should be augmented by a well defined desire or intent to give you more exact results. The following is a general intent that precedes the specific one, and is a good way to begin each session of Creative Visualization:
Everything I need is already within me.
The universe is unfolding perfectly.
All things are now working together for good in my life.
I love and appreciate myself.
Follow this with a specific projection. If you desire to have greater financial benefits in your life, the following is an example of a specific tailored projection.
My skills and talents are employed in a job that pays well and gives me satisfaction.
The intentions are expressed in the present tense. It may feel strange, initially, to make a statement that something is so, when it isn't yet. Remember, the thought precedes the reality. If you project that something will be so instead of projecting that something is so, that leaves it open ended and could delay it's realization...state concisely, what is your Intent.
Visualization:
Thinking isn't done completely with language. Much thinking is done with imagery. Power of thought is most effective when you visualize the reality you are creating in your mind's eye. In our sample projection, you will imagine, see in your head, yourself in that position. Visualize yourself acting out your duties, your desk, your check being handed to you. Imagine it in a transparent sphere, and release it into the Universe. Visualization.Affirmation:
Speak your projection aloud, repeat it at different times. This is an element that is very effective for the generalized projection from above, say it aloud when you get up in the morning, at lunchtime, and at night. Affirm your projection: Affirmation.
Expectation:
All of this, can be wasted if you don't Expect it to happen. Expectation is more than hope. Think of it in terms of the expression in regards to a pregnant woman. She is expecting. She isn't hoping she is going to give birth. She knows that she will: Expectation.
Confidence:
Your thinking is comprised of the same physical elements as everyone's. The only thing that can prevent your thoughts from becoming actualized, is having another thought: that they won't. That you're not adequate to achieve it or deserving to receive it. Your thoughts do create your reality, positive or negative, have Confidence.
Belief:
Belief and Disbelief are thoughts. If you go through this process and then hold back your judgement, only intending to believe it when you see it; you have still created reality. Disbelieve this effect of thought, and the projection you tried doesn't work, you proved the truth of it, either way. Belief.
Will:
The characteristic that defines us all. Your will power is as strong as you decide it will be. It is what you use to make a decision. It is what allows heroic, super human acts of courage, amplified abilities of martial arts practitioners, Winning of Olympic medals, triumph over illness. The main power behind the entire process of Magical Thinking. You craft the vision of your intent, or projection, decide that it is so, and you create that reality. By an act of Will.
In conclusion, there's no denying it; thought is energy, as is matter. Quantum reality is they are one. With intent or accidentally, we do grasp the fabric of the Universe in our hands and mold its molecules with our thoughts. You don't need a magic wand. You are one!
