The Hero.

Starry night,
Gunfire bright
the dogs of war came forth to fight.

Great heroes they were. O'er hilltop and moor,
The warriors who never took flight.

now the battle be done, the bodies piled high.
The wounded and dying their souls soon to fly.
one soldier remains, his head held up high.
the man who looked death in the eye.

Wow! You have a lot of talent and I am glad you are finally sharing it with us (the public). Nice rhyming pattern... pretty short poem, but amazingly well written. Keep it up!
